Reading Ambedkar in The Time of Covid - 19
The Article by Awanish Kumar tries to throw light on the conditions and consequences of the Covid 19 Lockdown. It starts by talking about the hundreds of poor migrant workers who had to walk hundreds of kilometeres to their hometown and how the society is negligent of this situation. The article then questions the policy maker about how they forget one strata of the society. To answer this question the author puts emphasis on social reforms and Ambedkar’s Annihilation of caste to achieve this. The author then focuses on the problems of social isolation and social nausea as a byproduct of social distancing. The author then elaborates on this by talking about social stratification and how all the castes function individually and the idea of caste is Inward looking and hence giving rise to self motivated interests without any consideration for others. 
The Solution to this problem is to achieve social efficiency with the help of social endosmosis. Social endosmosis refers to the ways in which different castes and classes transact with each other whereas Social efficiency means interconnection of different groups in order to increase the communication in the society. The paper then draws parallel between types of castes and how the Brahmins at the top of the hierarchy are anti social to maintain their interests and how it leads to certain problems in the society while the lower class as Ambedkar is said is classified based on birth and certain people are oppressed just because they took birth in a certain group. This antagonism of interest keeps people away from the idea of shared concerned and Ambedkar was well aware of this obstacle and spent a considerable time on developing the idea of fraternity to overcome this obstacle. The article suggests that it is an herculean task to attain social endosmosis in india due to such separations in the society and the best possible answer is Annihilation of caste to achieve social endosmosis

Contested Citizenship, Caste, and the Politics of Chandrashekhar Azad ‘Ravan’             The CAA-NRC agitations have perhaps reached a tipping point in mainland India. Yet, the contention and agitation has been brewing in Assam for a while now. Until the threat of a nation-wide NRC, it wasn’t even a peripheral topic of discussion. ‘We people’ were largely unfazed by it. However, a brief reading of the recommended articles and a short explanatory video with Ms. Bina Pallical reaffirms my continuous contention with the NRC. Week 10 - Samyuktha Rao

I'm sharing something interesting that I've come across during my search for dalit music. In the state of telangana, India's largest tribal festival is conducted on an annual basis in the month of February. The festival witnesses largest gathering of dalit communities as the goddess who is worshipped during the festival belongs to the Koya tribe. However, Hinduization of this festival has begun to take place in the last few decades. I'm attaching articles from the wire and feminism in india which talks in detail about how upper castes are controlling the image of the goddess as theirs and their other  other practices of Hinduization that are taking place during the festival.
