Ambedkar Jayanti falls on 14th April and this year we celebrated 129th birth anniversary of Father of our constitution and the greatest Dalit activist. But the celebrations were cut short by the arrests of Anand Teltumbde and Gautam Navlakha, which is ironical in nature as the world celebrated the birth anniversary of one of the greatest icons of Dalit rights his grand-daughter's husband Anand who is also a profound civil and Dalit right activist was arrested.

Anand Teltumbde has been accused of plotting an assassination of prime minister Modi, but the true crime he has been arrested for his speaking against the fascist regime and fighting for the rights of the untouchables. Countries like USA and UK recognised the contributions of Baba Saheb Ambedkar by passing resolutions in their respective houses and the country where he had unsurmountable contributions honours him by falsely arresting Dalit activists when the Supreme court gave orders to release prisoners to counter Covid-19, the hypocrisy of the government is quite obvious. Remembering the real spirit of Babasaheb lets remember that annihilation of caste means nothing without annihilation of deep rooted class inequality. Anand Teltumbde said the same, and thus he was arrested.

Experts have pointed out that the best way to fight the present and persistent danger of Covid-19 is to maintain physical distance from and contact (“social distancing”) with other individuals. In the Indian context, social distancing is a sociocultural phenomenon. Corona-induced social distancing does not address the problem of deeper levels of distancing caused by “social isolation” and “social nausea,” two concepts used by Ambedkar that are the still so prevalent in our society. So now is the time to fight Covid-19 and these social issues together in rememberance of Baba Saheb Ambedkar.

Yet, the contention and agitation has been brewing in Assam for a while now. Week 10 - Samyuktha Rao

I'm sharing something interesting that I've come across during my search for dalit music. In the state of telangana, India's largest tribal festival is conducted on an annual basis in the month of February. The festival witnesses largest gathering of dalit communities as the goddess who is worshipped during the festival belongs to the Koya tribe. However, Hinduization of this festival has begun to take place in the last few decades. I'm attaching articles from the wire and feminism in india which talks in detail about how upper castes are controlling the image of the goddess as theirs and their other  other practices of Hinduization that are taking place during the festival.
